In this project, my partner and I were asked to make a collection based on the archetypes: T-shirt, sweatshirt and sweatpants. We started this project in the Fall 2021 semester, which was one year after the Covid pandemic began. Therefore, the three archetypes reminded us of the times we spent during quarantine at home, wearing comfortable garments. Through this shared experiences, we also thought of Tracey Emin’s art installation, “My Bed”, which was her expression of vulnerability, comfort and depression. Thus, our main source of inspiration for silhouettes was set.
