In this project, combined with Cristobal Balenciaga and Rei Kawakubo, I was doing this project in “Historical Selections.” From the view of today, we know that in the 1980s, Yohji Yamamoto convinced Rei Kawakubo to go to Paris and hold their fashion show. Before this, Cristobal Balenciaga changed fashion in the 1950s with his talented technique in cutting and bringing in different shapes. We may believe he had already built the platform in history and left a place for the designers like Rei Kawakubo. And she appeared at that time, that place. Connected to what I want to do in this project, this is about fatalism (Fatalism is a philosophical doctrine that stresses the subjugation of all events or actions to destiny.). I want to question the acceptance from this point, whether people cannot change their future.
