This collection of Mugler collaboration is about masculine Chinese propaganda and workwear (changed from the Chinese military wear and had barely any difference) from China in the 1980s. The research started with Thierry Mugler’s journey to China in 1985 and one of Mugler’s vintage jumpsuits with all the workwear and military elements (press buttons, pockets, and shoulders). Based on the archetype of Chinese workwear, and related to the powerful silhouette from the history of Thierry Mugler and his campaigns from the journey in China in 1985, a strong, superhero silhouette of workwear is the core of this collection.
